Sweets

Things are turning around. There are activities that I did not expect and opportunities are popping up. I am hesitant to grab one opportunity but suddenly the good friend (a grad school classmate) turned up and told me he wants the resume now so he can give it to their boss. So there, I am officially into job hunting now. I am worried though about the Program I am currently managing. I have so many plans for the program but I think it is time to take another challenge, a new environment for a change.

This morning I was able to talk to some people who knows about my application. Positive feedback on my application. And I am kind of nervous about informing my boss about my new move. I just hope he will take it well.

If things favorably worked my way, there will be so many things to do. The turn over of the program, the plans that should be pursued...it will be a rush mode for me. And this will be happening simultaneously with the last leg of my Masters. sigh. Good things don't come easy right?

On easy sweet things, Fig & Ruby is really the best. I love her party ideas and tips. I just keep on staring and loving those cakes and sweets she had in her blog. I will be doing those when I have my free time soon. :)

I am not sure if its okay with her to post here some of her picture but I can not resist. Will right her a note or two later.

Idle Hands

for this busy mind. And since I have been wanting this for so long:

but did not try looking at the tag price, I am surprised to learn that it cost $6995. I think its time to look for other brand. This is too expensive for a starter machine although I have been wanting to call the branch selling those to confirm if this is the real price. Browsing the net, I found some cheaper brands (japanese) and since the machine that I own in my high school days is a japanese brand too and never gave me a problem there is a possibility that it will be a go on those japanese manufactured sewing machine then.

To keep my mind from being too work and school related focused here are some projects that I might work with later:

1. sew mama sew list - a list of hand sewing resources. yay!

2. Sew Mama Sew Blog 2 - embroidery patterns, free!
3. JCasa Patterns - more tutorials for beginners like me.

Although my happy turned crappy day is tiring, I am glad to find these sites. At least they made me a little bit less moody.

That's all for now. I have some activities to finish today. Will catch up on you later. I know there are overdue photos that I need to post but forgive me for the slow output. I am having trouble with my laptop lately with the vista internet anti-virus campaign that has been spamming and crowding my monitor.

Goal Number Two

Aside from the list that intended to be accomplished this year (which I call GOAL 1), I have another goal (GOAL 2) that I have to do before the year ends. It is a saving for the things that I want to buy for our new home, which needs special fund raising since most of our money are being focused on the house purchase.

I have around 2000 on my account right now since my rule is to follow the 10% savings from what I earn every payday. So I am on the right track.

Another good news, we finally able to get a deal from housemates to split the bills in half. The load is lesser on our part and it will give us more space to allocate some of the funds to our new nest. So there. Let's hope things will work out well.

I will soon start hunting thrift stores where I can get some of the things that we will be needing for our home. For the meantime, we already have our final layout for the house. I have some revisions in mind but will have to wait for few days to meet up with our architect guy.

For a minute there

I can bit her head off. But Harold Coffin's quote on envy/jealousy:

Envy is the art of counting the other fellow's blessings instead of your own.

reminded me of the blessings that God has given me. And my anger died down. Not that easy but slowly, I stopped thinking of that woman who is stabbing me behind my back (or with my hands tied behind my back since I do not stoop down her very very low level). Hence I count:

- a lovable husband (greatest,sweetest)
- great in-laws
- a wonderful family ( I am so lucky!)
- Darling G
- Great friends (even those new friends who were colleagues-turned-best friends)
- Wonderful and very challenging career (challenging because I am not sitting waiting for orders but I get to practice and implement acquired knowledge)
- a great mentor and boss (who sometimes drive me nuts, but then I am still grateful to be one of his trusted staff)
- and God who never let envy get into my way and who kept me strong by giving me small pinches of test and great blessings in exchange of my sacrifices.

Although it has been a long day with all the travel that I covered to attend a seminar with Teny, Luan ang Bryan it was a fruitful and happy one.

I am not going to bed yet, but I blogged just in case I snoozed from exhaustion. :)

God is Great!

MidWeek

Yes people, I woke up from a zombie stance and got online immediately. What happened to my Monday and Tuesday? It seems that I was barely out of my midterm exam zombie mode and now it is Wednesday?

Will be heading to the University to drop by the library and get some fresh ideas on my paper then attend symposium for about Science and Technology. Not much laugh but enriching to the brain. ;)

Bought tons of post-its and prepared some guidelines for my one-month-two/three-books-strategy for my upcoming compre exam. The two books (one is twice as big as the other one or bigger) are bookmarked (with my colorful post-its) while the new shelves were replenished with new books awaiting for their turn.

So far, I was able to get myself on two pages per book. :D

I was able to save few bucks from my salary this payday. It's P 1100 (10% of what I received, remember?). Not bad, right?

My dear friend A is waiting at Tech U of the PI right now and told me he is waiting. :D It's time to sign off, I think. We were off to the library (which is in UPD, so far...)

Will catch up on blogging later.
